Staffs of AMKH are they family. I know patient who tried to commit suicide with “well prepared” wires given by family members. My three months stint there taught me what is the meaning of Family, I learned Love of Family must be Cherished. I “cast” what I “see” into words of Love yearning from hearts. There is a long poem that spells out the separation of loves one. I think I composed that poem during lunch hour after an elderly patient relates to me on how her sons and daughters-in-law treat her and disowned her and had her in AMKH for “good”. Mostly in chinese as most of the patients talks to me in chinese while waiting for their Xray to be done. Some swept with dreadful tears when they talks about how adorable their children were when they were young.
Thye Hua Kwan Hospital, AMKH, a place I learned to spell a simple yet complicated word as it may not seem to be ---- FAMILY. We learn the word in pre-elementary school days surely in K1. But how many of us REALLY know to spell it in the way it supposed to be?
